How do mousetraps work?

There are many mouse traps available to the public in retail and DIY stores. This solution, although correct as long as you do not suffer an overflowing invasion, will allow you to get rid of rodents that scratch at home and you will also avoid calling the mouse exterminator.

Musket traps

also known as spring traps, are available on the market and widely used.

The mortaise traps

are placed along rodent trails, and an attractive agent such as food or nesting equipment can be used. When the spring mechanism is triggered, a metal bar breaks and kills the rodent.

Glue traps

are often placed in the same places as the snapping traps. After encountering the trap, the mice are immobilized by an adhesive surface. Trapped rodents exhale from hypothermia because they cannot move and maintain their body temperature.

Live traps

They are also commercially available. These characteristics require the homeowner to release specimens caught in the natural environment and do not guarantee that the mice will not return.

These mouse traps are designed for owners who don’t want to kill mice.

These traps attract mice through the use of food bait, once entered, a metal door closes and captures the individual.

Owners must then release the mice into their environment and depending on the distance, the released mice often return to the house.

Only effective against a few mice.

ultra-sound traps

Ultrasound repellent

Electronic mouse repellents operate on the principle of using high-frequency sounds to keep mice away from food sources and nesting areas inside homes.

Sonic or ultrasonic devices have been presented as repellents for everything from cockroaches to insects to rodents, especially rats and mice.

Whatever their type, traps are considered to be very effective in capturing and exterminating individual rodents. However, it should be noted that mouse populations are growing rapidly and often require more extreme pest control measures.

Mr. Gagnon. Laval: "I noticed that wasps were entering my veranda, so I called Alerte Animal. Mr. René Gélinas started by securing me on the phone. He then advised me not to not block the entrance where the wasps were circulating, because I risked finding them inside my house. On his arrival he dealt with the problem and I am very satisfied. Thank you again Mr Gelinas "

Mr Maurice, Montreal last March we returned from a week's vacation. I noticed ants in Indian files. Although I used bug spray, it kept coming back. I contacted Mr Gélinas on the recommendation of a friend. He reassured me about the nature of the insect (it was not carpenters) and got rid of it in a single intervention.

Mme Lamarche, Montreal: I heard funny noises in the corner of my room on the second floor ... it sounded like continuous crackles like when adding milk to the Crispi rice (cereals) I called René the exterminator and he came right away. Thank you very much for your team.
